Bring a Group

“A theatre that resolutely refuses to talk down to its audience” is how Travel+Leisure magazine described The Coterie, with its mission to communicate across boundaries to children, teenagers, teachers and parents.

In preparation for your field trip, The Coterie provides an exceptional menu of resources and activities to educators at coterie.edublogs.org.

Reserve Now & Pay Later

RESERVE NOW
There is no penalty for cancelling or reducing a reservation before payment is due.
Groups are encouraged to book well in advance once the date(s) and performance(s) have been selected as many weekday performances fill up months prior to the production opening.

Estimate high; reducing the number of tickets is possible until payment is received. There is no penalty for canceling a reservation before your payment is due. We strongly recommend one adult for every 20 students. Everyone attending the play must have a paid admission, including adult chaperons, paras and support staff, and guest parents.

PAY LATER
Payment is due in full 30 days in advance of your performance date. Once a group has scheduled a performance, the box office will email an invoice with reservation details. The Coterie cannot accept purchase orders. Please note: after payment is received there are no refunds, exchanges or cancellations.

Seating

Seating for The Coterie’s main stage is one of the most intimate performing spaces in Kansas City, up close and very personal.

Group seating is based on age/grade level and group size. Seating begins 30 minutes before curtain. Groups should arrive at the Coterie lobby no later than 15 minutes before curtain.

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will have floor seating for children and chair seating for older students and adults.

Bus Parking

Individuals and families are invited to park inside Crown Center’s secure retail parking garage.

Buses are welcome to park in one of several surface lots located to the south of Crown Center, east of the 27th St. and Grand Blvd. intersection.

Bus Subsidies

FREE OR REDUCED BUSES

The Coterie is pleased to offer transportation funding for school groups. We hope providing subsidies will assist schools in need, where transportation costs may preclude them from attending a Coterie production. Based on funding availability and reserved on a first-come, first-served basis, The Coterie Transportation Fund provides assistance up to $3.00 per student to defray transportation costs for any K-12 school bringing a group of 20 or more students to see an eligible Coterie production.

Important Restrictions:

  • Subsidy requests must be filled out prior to your performance date.
  • The subsidy may only be used once per teacher per season.
  • All paperwork must be recieved no later than 60 days after the performance.
  • Subsidies are $3.00 per student, but not to exceed $300.00.
  • Bus subsidies are not available for evening or summer shows.
  • Approval for transportation subsidies is based on availability.

The Coterie’s bus subsidy program is supported by generous donors who want to assist schools in need and give every student access to the arts. It costs as little as $3.00 to support one student’s bus subsidy. If you want to keep The Coterie accessible for all students, please consider donating to our bus subsidy program.
