I and You, featuring an acting team from the Coterie's master classes and alumni, is the winner of the 2014 Steinberg/ATCA New Play Award and finalist for the Susan Smith Blackburn Playwriting Prize.  Revolving around Walt Whitman's "Leaves of Grass," this is a haunting play about the strange and transcendent connections between us all.  What looks like two teenagers doing homework unlocks a much deeper mystery that has brought them together.  By the end, one of two must find her own take on Whitman’s “barbaric yawp,” which the poet says should be done in the face of one’s mortality.
