The Pigeon is in a play, and you can learn all about acting right along with friends from Mo Willems’ stories! Team up with Elephant, Piggie, and Unlimited Squirrels as you explore the world and books of children’s author Mo Willems. Have fun with all the characters and bring your favorite books to life!

Colorful Characters

Grades K-1st

Winter

Paint the world all of your favorite colors! Are you more like Pinkalicious, eating up all the pink cupcakes? Or like Harold, creating new worlds with your purple crayon? We’ll explore characters from colorful books such as Rainbow Fish, A Bad Case of Stripes, and The Day the Crayons Quit and act out stories inspired by them.

Space Rangers

Grades K-1st

Spring

Hop into your spaceships and grab your space lasers! It’s an intergalactic call to action! Become your favorite space characters or create new ones as we discover new life forms, explore strange planets, and help save the galaxy. Work together with other explorers to create stories that will take us “to infinity and beyond!”

Mysterious Mansion

Grades 2nd-4th

Fall

Have you heard? There have been strange happenings in the mysterious mansion. Are there ghosts? A secretive family? Discover what is inside by creating scenes and characters and get to the bottom of this mystery. Bring your imagination and be prepared to search for clues; it’s up to you to figure out how this story ends.

Detective Collective

Grades 2nd-4th

Winter

Step into a world of mystery! Detective stories are always full of intrigue and clever plot twists. Transform into detectives and secret agents to search for clues as you create and solve mysteries. Get your detective skills ready—let’s start sleuthing and crack this case!

Twisted Tales

Grades 2nd-4th

Spring

Have you ever read a story and wished for a different ending? For a character to make a different decision? For the villain to be the hero? Well, here’s your chance! Your favorite stories with new ideas…your ideas! Young actors will work together to bring the alternate versions of your favorites to life with your original storytelling and scene. Come explore “what if” scenarios and create a new “happily ever after.”  

Frightful Fantasies

Grades 4th-6th

Fall

What’s that noise? Who’s behind that door? The horror genre is a challenge for even the most seasoned actors. It brings many great opportunities for you to create bold and exciting characters and find the right timing to inspire fear and dread in your audience. This class will utilize scripts from plays or movies and have students create their own scary scenes.

Act It Out: Graphic Novels & Comic Books

Grades 4th-6th

Winter

Ever wish you could make yourself part of one of your favorite graphic novel stories? Get ready to bring your favorite characters to life! We will creature scenes and stories inspired by our favorite graphic novels and comic books. Join a dragon tribe from Wings of Fire, start your own Babysitters Club, or follow 39 clues around the world to solve a mystery!

Secret Identities and Cryptic Messages

Grades 4th-6th

Spring

Put on your disguises and prepare for a mysterious adventure. Students will transform into spies and work together to search for clues to complete a mission. We will explore characters who have something to hide and create mysteries along the way. It’s sure to be a fun challenge for all actors!
