Molly Postlewait
Molly Postlewait is a professional storyteller, living history performer, and educator who blends creativity, history, and science to bring learning to life. A versatile performer and naturalist, she has spent her career weaving storytelling into outdoor education, museum programming, and school residencies. Molly has a degree in Park Administration from Missouri State University.
Molly is an award-winning regional, national, and international performer. Regionally, she has appeared at Missouri Town, the Kansas City Museum, and the Ernie Miller Nature Center. Internationally, she has served as Artist-in-Residence at the International School of Frankfurt, Germany, and the International School of Dubai. Her excellence has been recognized with the Lifetime Achievement Award and the Distinguished Professional of the Year Award from the National Association for Interpretation. She has also produced award-winning CDs, including Animal Tales and Lamp of Freedom, and delivered keynote addresses for organizations such as Arkansas State Parks and the KC Interpretive Site Coalition.
As Senior Park Naturalist for Johnson County Park and Recreation, Molly designed more than 40 original programs, from the beloved Little Cedar Theatre to signature events such as the Enchanted Forest Fairy Festival and the Winter Solstice celebration. She also leads creativity workshops, empowering others to discover the spark of storytelling within themselves. In 2017, she presented at an international conference of museum and park professionals in France, and her writing has been featured in Ozark Mountaineer and Legacy magazine.
Her creative reach extends to early childhood programming as the founder of Wiggles and Giggles, a movement class for parents and preschoolers, and as a facilitator of the Kids Groove dance program. She is also the owner of Call of the Wild Trips, an outdoor adventure company that designs unique experiences to connect people with nature. In addition, she serves as an adventure guide at Wildwood Outdoor Education Center and TimberRidge Adventure Center.
An outdoor enthusiast at heart, Molly’s love of exploration has carried her from leading challenge courses in Kansas to trekking through the Andes and hiking Machu Picchu. Across all of her work, her mission remains constant: to inspire wonder, ignite creativity, and share the power of story to connect people with each other and with the natural world.
