Acting for the Camera

Description: Did you know that many of the actors who work on The Coterie stage also do commercials, television series, and films? Learn to transfer your acting skills to the screen! This course covers analyzing commercial and film “copy,” acting, taking direction, audition skills, and techniques on how to work with the camera. All the Things I Can Be*

Description: There are so many things that we can be: a fire fighter keeping people safe, a zoo keeper taking care of animals, or maybe a chef cooking tasty foods to eat! Inspired by the picture book I Can be Me in KC, we will use our bodies, voices, and imaginations to explore different careers and discover all the things we can be! *Students registered in this class must be potty trained. Creating Scenes and Sketches

Description: Let your imagination come to life! In this class you will collaborate to create original scenes and characters. Create sketch comedy or a suspenseful tale. Bring your own ideas, brainstorm together, and work off scripted prompts to perform scenes with interesting characters, plots, and story structure. Haunted Theatre

Description: What’s that noise? Who’s behind that door? The horror genre is a challenge for even the most seasoned actors. Let’s Get Wild

Description: What’s that sound? Was it a roar? Or maybe a hiss? All kinds of animals will be lurking in this class, as we transform from human into animal! Whether you are a tiger or a turtle, all of our animal characters will work together using our bodies, voices, and imaginations as we create our own animal stories. What are you waiting for? Little Blue Truck and You*

Description: Horn went ‘Beep!’ Engine purred. Where will we travel with the little blue truck? Together the students will combine their bodies, voices, and imaginations with the stories and places of the Little Blue Truck books. Description: A baker, a mailman, a farmer, an artist—we’re building our own town, and we need your help to bring it to life! Will you pretend to open your own pet shop? Or be the town’s doctor? Videogame Takeover

Description: Do you ever wonder what it’s like to spend a day in the world of Minecraft with Steve? Or getting to Dress To Impress with your favorite Roblox character?
